Action Speaks Louder than Words

A while back someone on Topix, an online community,  was wondering why so many Christians disregard the laws of the land.  They were referring to speeding, running red lights, copyright laws, etc…

I posted something similar years ago about downloading copyrighted music, movies and other stuff that I have seen Christians do. To me downloading music, movies and such without paying or permission from torrents, p2p or other sites is the same as shoplifting.  I even have been passed on the highway by those with Jesus placards in the window.   Just the other day I was passed by the local First Baptist Church van that was in a hurry to get to the car wash. I always find it strange that some just do not care. They claim they are saved, but see no problems breaking the law, even when it is pointed out to them that it is wrong.

Some always claim that since they are saved, they can sin, then ask for forgiveness later – but is it true repentance?  They say we are only human and everyone is sinners, but don’t do anything to stop their own sinning habits because they feel it is such a small sin.

When sin is point out some get mad and use the verse thou shalt not judge to pass the buck.   That to me that is a cop out because it shows me they really do not know the bible. The bible does say to rebuke sin. Luke 17:3 “Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent , forgive him.” also Ecclesiastes 7:5 says,“It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise than for a man to hear the song of fools.”

What does the bible says about small sin. The bible says sin is sin, makes no difference if it is a small sin or not. It is all the same. You will go to hell just as quick if you are a thief or a child molester because if you don’t know Jesus, you are lost.

The bible also says to obey mans laws.  It says in 1 Peter 2:13 “Submit yourself to every ordinance of man…”

There is a difference between accidental sinning like going over the speed limit without noticing than doing it on purpose by setting the cruise control. As a Christian you should know better. You are noticed by others. Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Ask yourself, is your actions showing your Christianity, your love for Christ, and your acceptance of him as your Lord and Savior? or does your actions have others wonder about your honesty.
